A Lesson on Perspective

Allowing yourself to see beyond the borders

and lines of those who have traveled before

you knew to embark on the riddled journey

of self discovery and endless unknown

A humble version, perspective is the way you see the interaction

of the world around you rising and falling

mixing and connecting

meeting and knowing

loving and not

It is so much more

and so much less than what we perceive as knowing or not;

a radically episodical undulating of rooting down and growing up

while periodically vanishing into a spiraling helix of cosmic shine

There is no easy way to travel

deep into the wilds of the ticking

that pulls on your heart strings

in the way that allows your voice to travel from mountain top to canyon bottom

It is a tragically beautiful re-birth

of mineral to stone

stone to metal

and art on one’s body

There is something so beautiful about the way a smile

caresses a woman’s delicate nature

of desiring to nurture those around her

nest she builds as her sanctuary

It is a way to see the world

come together to create something

so much more that it could ever

imagine to be on its’ own

Yes,  perspective is so much more

than the words I have to describe the

interconnectedness of this wild

web of life I have spun

Lessons are life’s beautiful gifts

of taking that path of darkness

and leading it into the world of the

most unimaginably splendid light.
